Gophers & Moles

Gophers are subterranian rodents that eat the roots and leaves of plants. They can be very destructive to flower beds, lawns, orchards, and vegetable gardens. Their mounds not only make a big mess but the tunnels that are made can leave the ground damaged, either causing sinking and erosion and creating potential problems for larger animals such as horses.

Moles are Insectivores, (they eat insects, )that will burrow through your garden and lawn looking for earthworms, grubs, and other turf insects nesting in rich soil. The expression "don't make a mountian out of a mole hill' comes from how much dirt they can move and the size fo the mounds they push up. This can create loss or damage of plants, sinking or erosion, and can be unsightly.
